The White Genoa fig tree is a popular and productive variety of fig Ficus carica known for its sweet, juicy fruit and vigorous growth. This tree produces medium to large, pear-shaped figs with pale green to yellowish skin and strawberry-pink flesh inside. The fruit has a rich, honeyed flavour and is excellent for fresh eating, drying, or making preserves.
White Genoa fig trees are well-suited to temperate and Mediterranean climates and can be grown in the ground or large containers. They are self-pollinating, so you only need one tree to produce fruit. The tree typically bears two crops per year: a smaller breba crop in early summer and a larger main crop in late summer to early autumn. White Genoa figs are also appreciated for their ornamental value, with attractive, deeply lobed leaves and a spreading growth habit.
