- Ideal for surface mulching of pots, tubs and planter boxes
- Reduces moisture loss due to evaporation
- Suitable as backing for stag-horns, elk horns and orchids
A natural material with fantastic moisture holding properties, this sphagnum moss block is an ideal decorative top dressing for all pots. It helps retain water and nutrients by reducing evaporation, and is also suitable lining hanging baskets and as backing for stag horns, elk horns and orchids. This block expands up to 10 litres. Rehydration Instructions Remove the packaging and place the compressed block into a wheelbarrow or large container. Gently apply about 2 litres of water through a hose or watering can to the block and wearing gloves start breaking the block apart. Tepid water (15- 25 °C) is satisfactory. Apply until chunks are wet through.
Allow to soak for 3-4 minutes before draining off any excess liquid. Then break apart with your hands until you have entirely loose fibre. Remove the wet loose fibre from the container and spread it out on an open area until it dries. Your Sphagnum Moss is now entirely rehydrated and ready to use for planting.
